Track Name: Welcome to Boisenberg
Well there's a time and there's a place
to put hard times on hold,
to dry off and drive off
to some other place
to grow old, grow old.

Well there's a farm out by the lake
that keeps stock of our lives.
The animals in the barn they heard us
hang up our knives.

We don't cry from our onions
and we cherish our chives.
The trees will sweeten our pancakes
and the honey's in the hives.

Welcome to Boisenberg,
you'll love it here.

Take a trip along the bank,
invest in some pleasantries.
In short, by the shore,
we ensure you shall treasure these

cobblers and corn cobs.
By the barleycorn we measure these
sight scenes we grow here;
pears, partridges, pheasants in trees.

Well there's a field quite far away
where foliage fills the soil;
the pollen is pullin' the pain and the rain
from the oils of mortal coils.

Taste the cider from the spile,
nothing ferments here nothing spoils.
The sun seals in the flavor of life,
the summer is set to broil.

Welcome to Boisenberg
you'll love it here.

Welcome to Boisenberg.
We know you'll love it here.
Welcome to Boisenberg.
We know you'll love it here.

Take a trip along the bank,
invest in some pleasantries.
In short, by the shore,
we ensure you shall treasure these

cobblers and corn cobs, (blackberry cobbler, corn and pineapples )
by the barleycorn we measure these (our carrots may cost a bit, but memories turn gold)
sight scenes we grow here; (we'll sell your our celeries, a wedge of our vegetables)
pears, partridges, pheasants in trees. (go explore the orchard)

Take a trip to somewhere far and away from home!

Our artichoke heart is where the heart is homegrown;
crop out all the pests but don't take photos alone;
what we lent you seeps out lentil soup and sepia tones;
through a picturesque lemonade pitcher the yellow pitch citrus of sunlight is shone.

Track Name: Don't Eat the Seeds
REBECCA:
Mother always said the farm was special
And she swore by the soil til she slept beneath it
I always gave her a shrug
But ten years later I'd come to believe it.

I cored an apple into sections I sliced
out every little bitty kernal
They swam around in the juice
green glowing flies infernal

Don't eat the seeds!
I rang up the press
The last batch it bleeds
uranium in excess

Don't eat the seeds!
Miracle mess
Flaw in the trees
Town in distress.

Strawberry seeds all studded with crystals,
All the orange gut stones like little lead weights,
Plum pits like limestone chunks,
And metal shards showed up in dates

The city jeweler couldn't say what it was
like nothing that he'd ever seen with his monocle,
They were unknown minerals,
“New Elements!” read the chronicles.

Don't eat the seeds!
I rang up the press
The last batch bleeds
uranium in excess

Don't eat the seeds!
Miracle mess
Flaw in the trees
Town in distress.

Darling, can you believe what they're saying about the field?
The secret of the orchard trees has suddenly been revealed.
Our fruits will change the world, my dear, we'll sell them by the truck,
we can finally afford to cure you, and ripen our rotten luck.
Track Name: They Tell Me Not To Lose You
MARTIN:
In my head I heard someone say you're the one I need,
They told me not to let you go,
Even if our marriage has murked into a mudslide
I can never leave you, for they scream it so

What we had was plucky, like a plush snapped off
from the branches you bark about,
Now it's all turned waxy grout,
and the heads that orbit
my splitting head won't let me out.

All of them say you're a catch, other fishes have washed up
on the salted shore cause I see you so differently,
Don't get me wrong, you're beautiful and kind,
but I stick around in trust of the voices in my mind.

Is this what we're left to?
I'd swim in cyanide
before I'd choose to stay and hide
in this rind of bones I'm trapped inside
But I still must love you, because
I can't be left alone.

What am I gonna do?
What am I gonna do?
Tell me now how did you
get in my deja vu?

How can I start again?
How can I be your man
if nothing they say
makes sense to you?

What do they call the word
how do you say or do
It's somewhere inside of me
itching like presque vu

How can I live again?
How can I be your man
if everything in my head
has never been true?

What we had was plucky, like a plush snapped off (listen to me, don't leave her)
from the branches you bark about, (don't go away)
Now it's all turned waxy grout, (you'll regret it)
and the heads that orbit (she's the only one you've got)
my splitting head won't let me out. (don't you lose her now!)
Track Name: Chemist's Dozen
GALVAN:
I read about your town in a scholarly journal
They say that your produce produces new elements
My skepticism sparked right with my curiosity
I came to your farm to subject these seeds

To microscopic scrutiny and see what I can see
and uncover some chemical kind of mystery
I hope you don't mind, I can compensate
for any piece of the fruit cake I take from the plate

I’ll collect a chemist’s dozen,
Pi of every cherry pie
A mole of mulberry molecules
Tau of single-celled rye

A chemist's c-c-collects a dozen!

I've been stuck in smoked-glass beakers
I've burned my Bunsen and melted my sneakers now
The earth and the grass smell so sweet to me
so please show me to your tallest of trees

I thank you my new friend, sharing your best stock
with an old scientist who could be a crackpot
But I confess some ulterior intentions
My dying wife needs alternative inventions

I came to your town in desperation,
Tried every kind of element medicinal to radiation
A new kind of chemical in a new kind of state
I pray could delay her particle decay.

I’ll collect a chemist’s dozen,
Pi of every cherry pie
A mole of mulberry molecules
Tau of single-celled rye

A chemist can still collect a dozen!

I've been stuck in smoked-glass beakers
I've burned my Bunsen and melted my sneakers now
The earth and the grass smell so sweet to me
so please show me to your tallest of trees

I’ll collect a chemist’s dozen,
An Avagadro of Avocados
Significant figs of prunes and figs
Or the AMU of camu camu

The skin of your passion fruit
has a fine leather rind like
the transubstantiation from
hydrophobic lipids to wine

There's a granulated glucose in
the polypeptides of
the lichen-like lychees
that need the sun to survive

Can your hydrochloric coconuts
colada up a catalyst
and acid wash the milkyway
to water down our lives?

I've been stuck in a graduated cylinder
I haven't bubbled over but the truth is that I'm willing to
admit that my now can't depend on my wife
but the force of my failure will siphon her life
Track Name: Lithium Limes
MARTIN:
I'm panicking, Rebecca.
battered and betrayed.
You spend each day with him
I stay inside and fray

Help me understand
what I could have done better
mental health may be a pain
but spare me this dear john letter

REBECCA:
Please don’t stress over my scientist friend,
I promise he's married and placid,

He has offered us to help neutralize
your neurons soaked in acid.

Dr. Iseman found lithium in our limes

These little lozenges can
Balance your mind

Try a bit of this sour pill,
Do it for me, please, Martin,

If you'll notice it, the voices have trusted
everything about our marriage
Listen in one last time, then part with them.

These little lozenges can
Balance your mind
Track Name: Magnesium Melons
GALVAN:
I’ve split this melon and found magnesium
I can’t believe the possibilities
These starfruits assembled here have samples of stardust
And these papayas have unprecedented protons
Science is stumped this season, I’d say
That’s one point for miracles.

Magnesium melons can soothe my sour stomach
Ease my appetite for syrup sweet needs.
These soft skin spheres can douse my heartburn
And light our ventricle fuse
These vine-grown worlds can fuel rocket science
And take us to a system far away.

A green thumb is one thing,
But some quark color charge
Has painted the portrait of this pure soul

A spirit, I’d say, is the absence of self,
And the pure color white is the absence of light
Whatever the spectrum, hypothesis stands:
Rebecca is off the scale!

Magnesium melons can soothe my sour stomach
Ease my appetite for syrup sweet needs.
These soft skin spheres can douse my heartburn
And light our ventricle fuse
But the most amazing fact I’ve found so far
Is the nourishment inside the farmer girl.

Something inside me germinates for her, from the nectar in her eyes
The stirring in my heart so pollinated by her humming bird disguise
I'm not reminded of my dearest Lillian, but she makes me feel alive
It worries me a bit...
Track Name: Stream of Covalence
REBECCA:
Mother always said to be true to who you love
but there's something happening that I didn't expect
Somewhere deep inside of me I feel a twisted traitor plowing through my chest.

For as long as I remember it's always been Martin and
despite his illness, he was the one for me,
Yet suddenly, there's a spiral turning my insides to smoothies.

I feel a certain flavor here for the scientist, despite his age,
and despite his poor wife
But the flutter and the shudder, it's like churning butter in my heart.

I neglect my chores and duties
just to hear him speak
and feel him brush my cheek,
hear him clink his beakers
and explain which bonds are weak.
But I think ours is strong
because we both get along,
and I hope I'm not wrong.

How can I ever know?
I think I can never know.

The guilt is unbearable, for my betrayal to the man I married
I know he left me, I know he hates me, but that's not his fault.
The cacophony in his mind doesn't make him bad.
It's my duty to stay by his side, despite what makes me sad.

What can I do to fix this?
Should I stay away from Galvan?
How can I dissolve these feelings
and sprinkle them away?
Track Name: Circus Lab
CARNIVAL BARKER:
The carnival is coming to town
A caravan of freaks eating fire
The festivals bring business to the farm
But this group hasn’t been here prior

REBECCA:
I think they’re setting up the big top
With lightning rods and weather vanes
Carousels of robots
Wind-up dolphins, flaming rings
A wireless tightrope walking act
And jetpack powered acrobats
Dunk tanks into glowing vats
And laser gun target blast practice

Galvan has been in such a giddy mood
from all the technology in the circus tents
but I’m used nothing but home grown food,
peanuts, clowns, and lion tamers, all the elephants

Please Dr. Iseman, don’t leave town yet,
My husband's head has finally cleared,
He packed his bags and left

GALVAN:
Something strange is happening here
For this circus to quickly appear
The equipment is grand but its intentions unclear
And that curious ringleader fills me with fear
Track Name: Ringleader Shrink Ray
RINGLEADER RAY:
Let me introduce you to myself;
I am the Ringleader!
And I run the show here,
for what it’s worth.
This festival will have a change
that you're not so used to.
I hope you enjoy the Circus Lab:
the Latest Show on Earth!

Our main attraction is the heat ray,
We shoot through a hundred lead balloons
Burst firecrackers in mid air,
Shower the crowd in cooked Rangoon

Our main attraction is the freeze ray
We shoot through a hundred flaming hoops
Stop a cannonball in midair,
And shower the crowd in snow cone scoops

Check out our gift shop
we've got rayguns for sale!
You can put em on your keychain,
you can buy them buy the pale.
They're just toy death rays, I promise
they really don't work.
Buy them for your kid!

We heard about your little farm
And your famous freak show of the fruit,
We wanted to display the mutations
And at the stands we’ll sell the loot.

A couple tons should do the trick, I think.
We’ll pick the plums ourselves,
With our wind-up aluminum workers,
we'll line the shelves!

Our main attraction is the mind ray,
Read the thoughts of everyone that's around
Steal a memory of their favorite day
Spy on their dreams in hi-fidelity sound

Our main attraction is the shrink ray,
Targets gets harder to hit each time,
Blast boulders as they tumble away
Souvenir pebbles you keep the size of dimes.
Track Name: We Have This Tropical Shade
GALVAN:
Although that ringleader took all the fruit
I'd planned to use for research I'm not
not upset for we can cook all the roots
and brine the bark of your backyard birch

I've stalled my stay in Boisenberg
at the farm, with you, my new friend
and though the circus lab noises surge
I find that with you that nothing's a nuisance

I know I shouldn't say this, with my wife
withering withering withering...
but I have to say I'm happy here,
in the shade,
under these canned peach canopies.
I wish I knew a way to save her.
What about my own life?
I can see somebody's saving me.

Is it wrong to say I love you?
My skin could root
while you survive by my dew
and I bask in these radiants new.

This man of math and law and theory...
let's lay till shadow cut-outs douse us dreary.
We have this tropical shade,
let's hide forever from the glades.

I know I shouldn't say this, with my wife
withering withering withering...
but I have to say I'm happy here,
in the shade,
under these canned peach canopies.
I wish I knew a way to save her.
What about my own life?
I can see somebody's saving me.

Your husband a deft deserter,
my wife a desert deaf
but we have this tropical shade
this lake and the life that's left.

I know I shouldn't say this, with my wife
withering withering withering...
but I have to say I'm happy here,
in the shade,
under these canned peach canopies.
I wish I knew a way to save her.
What about my own life?
I can see somebody's saving me.
Track Name: Ambush On The Trail
GALVAN:
A week into the festival, Boisenberg had gone sour
Attracting gamblers and ruffians,
City scoundrels and business bounders
The streets gone flaky with trash.

REBECCA:
And the farm was a dank pit of pandemonium.
And they sold my fruit at a fifty/fifty cut.
The rest went missing in bulk every sundown.

The more dangerous fruits went on the black market;
Oranges with opiates, mandarin memory sweeps,
Banana peels that burn rubber like caltrops,
Coconut milk that can put a mammoth to sleep.

Galvan cried out that these new elements has been abused.
They should be tested then invested in, correctly used.
So he and I arranged a caper,
To find the fruits behind a veil of vanilla bean vapor.

GALVAN AND REBECCA:
We road hand in hand on the cobblestone path,
Protecting our lungs with Galvan’s gas masks.
We just galloped past the old city gate,
When the stone of a catapult knocked off our crate.

They’ve come to steal the harvest, (ambush on the trail)
Green goggles pierced our vapor veil. (ambush on the trail)
We gotta protect the harvest. (ambush on the trail)
We can’t afford to fail. (ambush on the trail)
Track Name: Guava Grenadiers and the Chase on Clementine Bridge
GALVAN:
A horde of circus workers surrounded us
as we crossed Clementine bridge.
Ringleader Ray got wind of our escape (no!)
And trapped us at the city ridge.

Military clan from somewhere north
Searching for our bio-core seed warfare

REBECCA:
My radiation grapes and caustic calabash
To be snuck across lines or hurled in the air.

GALVAN:
A forged shipment of foul goods
An aerial drop of toxic tangerines
The soldiers could squeeze dry
And stomp to smithereens

REBECCA:
Galvan look out, they’re coming in close
I’ll steady the cart, you time your throws,
Lob guavas at the tanks, drop durians on the road
The juices turn to lava and the ovaries explode.

REBECCA AND GALVAN:
The Lt. launched his rockets from the rolling catapult,
Blistering the bridge and blowing out the bolts,
The boards and supports buckled with a jolt,
We fell into the river and the chase came to a halt.
Track Name: Black Currant
GALVAN:
It was the berries that saved us from death
they foamed up as they broke the surface
and bloomed the river with bubbles for breath.

Hold on to my hand, Rebecca,
and I'll clutch this splintered raft.
Float back to the farm on the current,
Circus fiends stuck on the path.

Hold on to my hand, Rebecca,
I'll cling to this broken wood.
There's something I must confess out loud,
That I thought I never could.

My wife was long pulled by the whirlpool of death.
I would have told you but I was nervous,
I came here to see if I could have saved her last breath,
cause she didn't deserve to die.

Hold my hand, Rebecca,
and forgive me for deceiving you.
I couldn't save her and I have to move on,
so forgive me, now, for needing you.

Hold on to my hand, Rebecca,
and I'll clutch this splintered raft.
Float back to the farm on the current,
Circus fiends stuck on the path.

Hold on to my hand, Rebecca,
I'll cling to this broken wood.
I've fallen in love with you, my friend.
Though I never should.
Track Name: They Want You Back
MARTIN:
I never should have left you,
That's what the phantoms say.
They want you (we want you!)
They want you back,
So I’m here to stay.

I hate this town and always will
I only came to see the chemist killed

I'm back in town now.

Good to see you again, my wife. (we're back too!)

All my limes have gone rotten.

And voices that once followed me (we can't believe that you left her now you must go back)
Show me how stale we’ve grown... (It's so obvious...)

This chemistry creep has poisoned your skin (throw him the river)
I’ll take him to the river (throw him in the river)
And dutifully throw him in (throw him in the river NOW!)

No don’t try to stop me, dear

Cause I’ve got an army in my head. (left, right, left, right, MARCH!)

If we all listen to what they say (minimize the dead you gotta minimize the dead...)
We can minimize the dead.

No, I don’t want your filthy grapes (don't eat the seeds!)
From those dusty vines, (no, don't eat the seeds!)

Try all you want, (you won't change is mind)
to change my mind. (you can't change his mind)
They want you back in the
rust grind.

then—wait,
why did I even come here?
Hadn’t I just left?
Why do I taste wine?
I feel so bereft...

I never should have left you,
That's what the phantoms say.
They want you (we want you!)
They want you back,
So I’m here to stay.

I hate this town and always did
Forgot why I came here, but now I’ll be rid.
Track Name: Burning the Field
REBECCA:
When Galvan and I returned to the farm
We could hear the hooves on the distant cobblestones.

Darling, we don’t have long to act
The setting sun turns our crop dim.
To keep our integrity intact
We must do something to stop them.

My mother left this farm in trust,
the seeds will sprout and spread.
the sweets of healthy spirits, to soften
stomachs and smiles.

I'm ashamed to tell you
we have no choices left.
This is why you came here
Not to reach me or your wife,
But to nip this strange bud
And do what you think is right.
Let's remove what's malignant
Since they've turned this orchard to blight.

Sic your machines on these pollutions,
Your burners and solutions,
To destroy the cores,
And disintegrate the spores,
Boil molecules to mush and eliminate
the chance of these weapons to germinate,
so hold my hand and watch it burn away.
Track Name: Take My Hand, Rebecca
GALVAN:
Take my hand and come with me to my laboratory
never look back here.
Let me open your world to the city life
and the rest of ours.

Or I can stay here with you
And live the quiet of two.
When the trees regrow
They won’t bear fruit.
But they’ll always shield the sun
in the tropical shade.
Take my hand, Rebecca. Tell me I can be the one.

With your agricultural knowledge
We can work together to perfect overnight
Synthetic fertilizers,
which is something I'd expect you'd like.

For now we must be selfish
I think we've earned the right.
We must forget our loves
and keep them out of sight.
For now let's burrow down
far below this plight.
We must take time alone
Our hearts will keep it bright.
Take my hand, Rebecca.
You're the one.
